For over 15 years, Sue and Ron have been welcoming visitors to spend the night and enjoy a full breakfast in their wonderful Uptown Home. The Quimper has become a comfortable retreat for returning guests and a delightful discovery for both seasoned and "first time" bed & breakfast patrons from all over the world. Our 5 distinctively different rooms offer the quiet, uncluttered architecture of a late 19th century charm. Antiques and family favorites please travelers and local weekenders and provide respite from the city while allowing the enjoyment of each others company. Since 1888, our "commanding and commodious" presence on Franklin Street has been a landmark to locals with its unique architecture. Built as a Georgian home it was re-styled in 1904 by Gertie and Harry Barthrop using a Richardsonian flare, with a grand and friendly countenance. As Betty MacDonald said, "a shining broach on the breast of a jilted bride..."
