A little about Minden
Minden gives the visitor an opportunity to walk in the shoes of early settlers.
The history of Minden
In 1876 the settlers of Kearney County voted to make Minden their county seat even though it existed only on paper without a single inhabitant or building. Since its original founding Minden has added a few amenities in it service to early pioneers and farmers, even adding an opera house. Over the years Minden has evolved with the changing needs of its citizens and surrounding areas but has never lost it appreciation for its pioneer roots. Minden serves as home to the Harold Warp pioneer village that houses 50,000 historical artifacts in over 28 buildings on 20 acres.
